Since I came back to settle at my home-country, I have not been cooking. It is not that I do not like to, but there is no need to. Hee.. plus I am also lazy.. =p
How long I haven't been cooking? Well.. 6 months plus! I have done bits and pieces but not much... let me see... for the last 6 months I have baked one cake, one bread.. did some marinade BBQ food... prepared 2 dishes on separate occasions.. and dumpling, but for 6 months these are really not a lot in comparison to how much I cooked when I was in UK.
I really do miss cooking and hence yesterday I asked mom not to cook and I prepared 2 types of pasta, one is with red wine mince meat tomato based. The other one is a cheat version of cabonara. ^_^
My verdict?..
1) The red wine is not full bodied enough to make the sauce.. but still good i put half a bottle in.. wow.. smelling this when cooking is enough to make me drunk!
2) I need to roast some peppers for the tomato sauce for extra flavour.
3) Without garlic actually made the dish with a completely different taste. Not that it is not Nice.. just different.
4) Shall not do cheat version for cabonara next time. Taste weird. But I don't think any of my family knows. Heh..
5) TTB and hubby loves the cooking.. THANKS!!!!!!! BUT... Don't think mom likes pasta very much. So next time.. stick to chinese cooking...
Will i be cooking soon? Ha ha ha.. not sure.. back to my lazy self now. HA HA HA HA.... but mom was happy yesterday that she doesn't need to cook. So i think i should do it occasionally.

Taste was ok, the tomato a but sour for me lah, you know i like sweeter stuff. the cream one i like, had that for lunch the next day, but me prefer more sauce, so not italian right? hehe...
